Remote Coaching
for Venture Investor Presentations
BizClarity works with clients from any part of the country–or the English-speaking world, for that matter.
This is possible because 90% of the problem with most presentations is the content–the key ideas and how you explain them, the sequence, the construction of the slides, and the writing of the narration. It’s not necessary to meet face-to-face to work on any of these issues.
I’ve done remote coaching and consulting for the last five years (along with face-to-face coaching, when practical) and clients are very happy with the results.
The Remote Coaching Process …
The process is simple. You email me your slides and we agree on a time for a telephone appointment. The first session takes about two hours.
The first thing we do is simulate an investor presentation, but over the phone. We role play, with you playing yourself presenting to a roomful of skeptical, savvy investors while I play the roomful of investors.
When you’re finished, we drop the roles and I ask questions to probe and get to the essence of your business.
Then we get to work building a new presentation. Almost every time, the weaknesses I find while role-playing critical investors reveals major flaws in how you present your company that can be fixed. From the questioning, I uncover what your business is really about.
… Gets Results.
The process is quite intense, but after the first session we both are closer to a clear understanding of what features of your business need to be highlighted, and how to do it. We start the process together of outlining new slides and writing the narration. It’s not uncommon to start over from scratch and create an entirely new approach for your investor presentation.
The end result is a presentation that casts your business in the best light. That anticipates and answers investor’s resistance before they can tune out. That answers their top-tier questions at a fast enough clip that they don’t interrupt before you get to the last slide.
The goal is an investor presentation that piques their interest so that they want to know more, drill down to ask good questions, and extend the meeting or ask to meet again.
What We Can’t Do Remotely
This remote coaching process is similar to the method I use during face-to-face coaching. The only thing we can’t work on during remote coaching is the visual elements–what you do with your hands, eye contact, pacing, stiffness, etc. If feasible, we can arrange to meet at a later time to polish deliver and tweak the content.
Payment
I charge by the hour, and request a partial payment before coaching commences. I can accept PayPal payments. Call to discuss rates and to estimate the number of hours you may need.
