Who is BizClarity?
BizClarity is me, Steve Bowman, also known as “The Pitch Doctor.”
I’m a presentation coach. But “coaching” doesn’t begin to describe what I do. I don’t just fix the delivery or a presentation or speech, or clean up messy PowerPoint slides. Unlike most presentation coaches, I go deep into the content and work with you to find and compose your message.
I can do this because, in addition to being a professional presentation skills coach, I’m a professional writer (and a composer). I know that content cannot be neatly separated from communication style and methods. In a great presentation, meaning and show merge seamlessly. Conversely, many delivery problems can be traced to poorly organized content and bad slides. That’s why I do it all.
I combine my writer’s approach with deep domain knowledge–hands-on experience in private investment plus an understanding of investor motivations. I know what goes through their minds when they screen businesses. I use that to help companies build presentations that hit the right notes and make the investors want to know more. Just as importantly, I know how to avoid mistakes that give investors reason to say “no” too quickly.

Steve Bowman
Steve Bowman, “The Pitch Doctor,” has been involved with communication, training and teaching since his student days at Harvard. Through more than 25 years of business, running small companies and working for large companies, Steve gave every sort of presentation and pitch and speech. More recently, he taught business communication at The Wharton School for five years, including lecturing for several years as part of the Entrepreneurial Program on communicating business plans to investors.
Steve brings to the task the instincts of a professional writer and the insight of an experienced businessman who understands marketing, strategy, and investing on the executive level. He is a professional speaking coach and trainer as well. His approach is strategic and psychological, beginning always with a complete understanding of the needs and point of view of the audience.
At the core of Steve’s service is his ability to help clients find and focus the essence of their message. Then he helps shape the message into a forceful communication in any form: speeches, presentations, PowerPoint slides, company websites, or executive summaries.
Steve’s creation of meeting engineering is a natural evolution of his work with presentations, and grows out of his interest in improving face-to-face communication.
Steve holds a degree from Harvard and has twenty-five year’s experience in business, including the syndication and marketing of real estate investments, owning and running small businesses, developing marketing programs for Prudential Real Estate, teaching, and consulting.
